i once was in love with the sea and i pulled her around me like a blanket to keep out the cold, and i didn’t mind that she had other people in her bed when i wasn’t there, until i discovered she cared no more for me than she did for anyone else.
i held her one last time before i set sail on her back and rode my rotting ship out to drown myself in her depths.
